We have had several recent situations in which employees working on construction sites have had many difficulties after a worksite injury because of the classification of the employment situation. Employers are increasingly using the independent contractor claim to avoid legal responsibilities. So be careful when you are employed in any capacity. Contact a lawyer to help evaluate what your rights and obligations are if you are injured.
